From May 7–9, 2025, the George Washington University campus buzzed with some of the sharpest minds in privacy and security during the Spring Academy of the Privacy + Security Forum—and Relyance AI was right at the center of the action.
As long-time supporters of the incredible professionals shaping this field, we were thrilled to be back. We loved seeing so many familiar faces and making new connections. Our booth wasn't just a place to grab the best swag (though we heard that a lot!), it was a true hub of activity, constantly filled with lively conversations among privacy and security pros from diverse industries.
Speaking of hubs, our sessions were absolutely packed. Our Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Leila Golchehreh, drew standing-room-only crowds— at both of her sessions, attendees lined the walls. It was clear: there’s a deep hunger for actionable insights on how to navigate the evolving landscape of AI governance and data compliance. Seeing that level of engagement was not just rewarding—it was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
Beyond the formal sessions and busy booth, the connections continued – our happy hour drew a fantastic crowd of over 25 attendees, fostering valuable networking. Standout moments included Leila's deep-dive AI Governance Masterclass (a hot topic!) and Dan Solove's insightful keynote, which truly captured the current pulse of the industry.
So, what was truly top of mind for attendees?
Predictably, AI Governance dominated. It was clear that professionals are grappling with the practical implications of AI on data privacy and security, and are urgently seeking ways to navigate this complex landscape responsibly. Alongside the focus on AI, there was significant interest in automating privacy workflows and equipping privacy professionals to keep pace with their rapidly expanding and increasingly complex roles.
People want to move beyond manual tasks and focus on strategic challenges. The ever-present discussions around potential new privacy regulations — and looming privacy-regulation changes that kept the conversation grounded in real-world urgency — added another layer of pressure to plan for the future.
Nothing we heard was entirely surprising, but the sheer level of interest in how technology – specifically Relyance AI's capabilities – can directly address these challenges was incredibly affirming. People weren't just talking about the problems; they were actively looking for solutions.
This is exactly where Relyance AI comes in. Seeing the pressing need for practical tools, we were excited to showcase how our privacy automation and AI Governance capabilities are purpose-built to tackle these exact issues. We demonstrate how to streamline workflows, gain crucial visibility into data use (including in AI systems), and ultimately, better connect privacy functions with other parts of the organization for a more integrated and effective security and compliance posture.
